Red Light Jazz Diner
The Red Light Jazz dinner is the highlight of every edition of the Red Light Jazz festival. Just like in 2021, the exclusive dinner will take place in the beautiful Winter Garden of Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky.
At the entrance to the historic Winter Garden, guests are received as VIPs, after which they are escorted to the reserved seats at an 8-person table. Chef Marco van Rutten has put together a special 3-course menu for Red Light Jazz 2022 with a matching wine arrangement. Music from Wicked Jazz Sounds and Kid Creole & the Coconuts will be enjoyed during and after dinner.
19:00 – 22:00 WICKED JAZZ SOUNDS
Wicked Jazz Sounds has become an institution within the Dutch music
scene. Not only because of the club and festival performances, but
especially as a musical platform. In addition to performances on all major
festivals like North Sea Jazz festival, Lowlands and many stages in the
Netherlands and abroad, they also three times organized their own Wicked
Jazz Sounds Festival, holding around 5,000 visitors per edition. You could
also know the musical family from its radio shows on RedLightRadio and
former Radio 6 Soul & Jazz or from its series of compilation albums, two
band albums or the weekly updated Tip44 list on Spotify with thousands of
followers.
During the live shows, DJs play together with musicians on an infectious
dance floor focused mix of funk, soul, hip hop, house, jazz and more ... its
motto? Dance with a smile!
22:00 – 23:15 KID CREOLE & THE COCONUTS
After dinner there will be a concert by Kid Creole & the Coconuts, the legendary American band centered around singer, leader and founder August Darnell (Kid Creole) and three glamorous backing singers/dancers (the Coconuts). The spectacular group plays a mix of funk and Latin American music with jazz influences from the 1930s.
For years the group defy description and transcend musical and fashion trends. On stage they are unmatched in their energy, originality and musical hipness. They are timeless and unique.
The performance of this famous world act will conclude a fabulous and unforgettable evening.
