Red Light Jazz Diner
The Red Light Jazz dinner is the highlight of every edition of the annual Red Light Jazz festival. This year the exclusive dinner will take place in the Grand Ballroom of the Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky Amsterdam.
At the entrance of the ballroom, guests are received as VIPs, after which they are escorted to the reserved seats at a table for four. Chef Marco van Rutten has created a special 3-course menu and wine pairing for Red Light Jazz 2023. If you are vegan or vegetarian, or have allergies, let us know in time.
Live music from the Roaring Cats and soul singer Steffen Morrison will be enjoyed during and after dinner.
Roaring Cats is one of Europe’s most promising new jazz bands. With its swing and hot jazz, the Amsterdam-based orchestra has successfully taken on the challenge of giving value and contemporary significance to the roots of jazz. The band’s repertoire consists of original arrangements of the finest tunes by the top artists of the ‘30s and ‘40s, from Fats Waller to Cab Calloway, and Duke Ellington to Jimmie Lunceford.
After dinner will be a concert featuring Steffen Morrison, the energetic soul singer with Surinamese roots who rocked the North Sea Jazz festival in 2019 and 2022 with sizzling concerts.
Morrison became well-known in the Netherlands in 2013, the year he participated on 'The Voice'. He and his band have since been playing many festivals and clubs, making music in the spirit of Morrison’s musical heroes Otis Redding and James Brown. The singer performs the most moving songs about heartache, but is also known for blowing the roof off with songs about the lighter things in life. On his latest album ‘Soul Revolution’, Morrison shows more of himself than ever before.
With this last performance of Red Light Jazz 2023, the organization will not only be concluding a fabulous evening but also an unforgettable 10th edition of the festival.
