BLACK IS THE COLOR OF MY VOICE
Inspired by the life and civil rights activism of the legendary Nina Simone, the story follows the fictional character of Mena Bordeaux, a successful jazz singer seeking salvation after the untimely death of her father, intertwining her political engagement and devastating events such as the Alabama church bombing and death of Dr Martin Luther king. Sitting alone in her room, she reflects on her journey through life which started as a young piano prodigy, destined for a life in the services of the church, to soon becoming a renowned jazz vocalist.
