A festive and inspiring fundraising event for the upcoming feature film WELCOME, hosted by Daphne Bunskoek with live-music, entertainment, interviews and the premiere of our "Buddy Commercial" made together with 80 refugee filmmakers from over 13 different countries!
We compiled a beautiful program which combines content with entertainment and after the official program we invite you on the dancefloor where DJ Covergirl Sunny will energize you with her tunes. Furthermore you can enjoy tasty bites!
Our cast and crew will attend The Buddy Film Ball, some of them will be presented on stage and of course there are a lot of opportunities to get to know the members of our team.
THE BUDDY FILM PROJECT
FoundationThe Buddy Film Project was established in 2017 with the aim to give refugee film professionals a network and guidance to paid work in the Dutch film industry. We organize workshops and produce feature films where Dutch filmprofessionals and refugee filmprofessionals work together.
At the end of 2016 we closed a very successful crowdfunding campaign via CineCrowd to finance workshops and script development, also supported by the Dutch Film Fund.
WELCOME - THE FILM
WELCOME is a romantic comedy set in a supermarket where a wide variety of refugees take part in a traineeship. When the local asylum centre is forced to close the locals revolt. It's a fictional story inspired by true events and funny, special and immersive experiences of real refugees.
WELCOME is a mosaic film full of unexpected friendships, cultural clashes, love and family in a village where everyone deserves a second chance.
The shooting of the film in planned for srping 2018 and to do so we need financing. Therefor we are actively looking for co-financiers and sponsors.
This is also the reason why we organize this fundraising event.
