BACH Festival Sint-Niklaas - 2024 - Abonnement

These tickets give access to the following activities (concerts and extras) of the 2024 edition of the festival.

Sunday 3 November 2024 at 10:30 in the Anton Van Wilderode hall, Vakschoolhof. End at 12:00.

"Lecture on Bach by Yves Senden"

A general introduction to J.S.Bach with references to the programme. In addition to audio fragments, there will also be visual material.

Yves Senden is an enthusiastic lecturer and Bach expert. He is affiliated with the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp as a teacher of analysis, philosophy of music and music history, among other things.

"A religious and a profane cantata with an Ouverture suite for orchestra in between."

Programme:
● Actus Tragicus (Gottes Zeit ist die Allerbeste Zeit) BWV 106
● Overture suite no. 2 in si minor, BWV 1067, for traverso, strings and continuo
● Coffee cantata (Schweigt sille, plaudert nicht) BWV 211

Performers: Flanders Boys Choir, soloists and baroque ensemble Aspetti Musicali.

Possibility to come and listen to the playing session for students of d’Academie Podium Sint-Niklaas: "Bach on all kinds of instruments". This can range from recorder to saxophone to accordion.

"Bach's chamber music"

Performers: Ensemble Stile e Gusto (baroque ensemble) with Ilse Barbaix (baroque oboe), Joris Van Goethem (recorder and traverso) and Dieter Van Handenhoven (harpsichord)

"Bach's organ music"

Program:
A sample of Bach's organ oeuvre. Chorales, Toccata and fugue in D minor and trio sonata

Performers: the 3 city organists. Katrien Mannaert, Hera Wyckers and Joost D’hont.

Saterday 23 November 2024 at 7pm in the Terekenkerk

As an introduction to the festive closing concert, a lecture will be given on "the use of the natural trumpet in Bach".

Gunther Cogen, renowned builder of such instruments, will tell us all about it.

Motet, Magnificat and Brandenburg Concerto

Program:
● Motet Jesu, meine Freude BWV 227
● Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 in G major BWV 1049
● Magnificat in Eb major BWV 243a The original, first version of the Magnificat.

Performers: Flanders Concert Choir, soloists and Euterpe Baroque Consort.

EXTRA: As an introduction to this concert, a lecture will be given at 7pm on the use of the natural trumpet in Bach. Gunther Cogen, renowned builder of such instruments, will tell us all about it.
