INTERNATIONAL BAROQUE FESTIVAL ZUTPHEN 1–5 July 2026

Are you a professional musician, student, or advanced amateur, and would you like to deepen your knowledge of and/or specialize in Baroque repertoire? Then come to Zutphen from 1 to 5 July 2026 and learn from renowned masters in the field of historical performance practice!

Throughout the city, masterclasses, presentations, workshops, and concerts will be held. For five days, the focus will be on authentic performance practice, both vocal and instrumental. A unique opportunity for professional musicians, students, and advanced amateurs to take lessons from prominent international masters.

The festival theme this year is “In the Footsteps of Constantijn Huygens.”
Huygens was a versatile figure of the Dutch Golden Age who, through his many European travels, connected art and music, embodying the ideal of the homo universalis: a bridge-builder between politics, art, and cultures. In the same spirit, the International Baroque Festival Zutphen aims to build bridges between old and new, between styles, between amateurs and professionals, and between musicians and audiences.

The festival program in 2026 is built around three musical pillars:

• The time of Huygens – featuring music he heard, admired, and practiced himself.

• The context before and after Huygens – the late Renaissance from which his world emerged and the Baroque that flourished after him.

• The enduring legacy in Bach – as at every edition, J. S. Bach is central, this time in both familiar and surprising performances.

Be challenged, moved, and inspired during this five-day educational celebration with numerous masterclasses, workshops, lectures, and concerts—for professional musicians, students, and advanced amateurs!

Ensemble of 3 or more persons: €1,000

*This offer applies only to already existing duos or ensembles; they receive lessons together.For ensembles with more than 5 members, a surcharge of €40 per person will be charged for meals.
Ensembles will receive an invoice for the remaining balance.

Professionals & amateurs: €250
Students: €125

Prices include 21% VAT. Payment in installments is possible.

Included: lessons, workshops, presentations, 5× lunch, 4× dinner, coffee and tea.
And subject to availability, participants may attend the concerts as listeners.

In case of cancellation within 30 days before the start, the deposit is non-refundable.
