from the lands he passed through, lived, was inspired and wrote “Travelling”

FREE TO TRAVEL is a cross-cultural musical performance that blends music, spoken word and song drawn from a wide range of countries and musical traditions - Greece, Italy, England, France, Spain, Russia, Egypt, Cyprus and the Mediterranean world. Through this musical journey, the performance captures the spirit of Nikos Kazantzakis: the irresistible urge to travel, to seek, and to experience inner freedom.

Teti Kassioni | Teti Kassioni is a singer and songwriter. She studied Contemporary Singing with Areti Topouzidou and holds a degree in French Language and Literature from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She began her career as a vocalist with various musical ensembles in Greece, including Graviton and Antidotum Tarantulae. Over the years, she has collaborated both in live performances and recordings with numerous prominent Greek composers and lyricists, among them Lina Nikolakopoulou, Marios Strofalis, Dionysis Tsaknis, Nikos Laliotis and Ilias Papakonstantinou. She has released two solo albums and has contributed as both composer and performer to several collective works. Her debut album, “Petagma (Flight)”, was released in 2016. In 2023 she released her second album, “Apo Kastano kai Erota (Of Chestnut and Love)”, based on poetry by Ilias Papakonstantinou, featuring her own musical compositions.

Giorgos Athanasiou | Giorgos Athanasiou is a classical guitarist. He began his studies at the Polyrhythmia Conservatory in Preveza under Nikos Rossos, where he earned his Classical Guitar Degree. He later continued his studies in Athens with Kostas Grigoreas and was awarded his Classical Guitar Diploma in 2015. In 2023, he completed a Master’s degree in Classical Guitar Performance and Virtuosity at the Domenico Cimarosa Conservatory in Italy. He is also a graduate of the Department of Music Studies at the University of Ioannina. Based in Brussels, he is actively involved in both concert performance and classical guitar teaching.
