Personal testimonies are interwoven with music and imagery, giving the music depth and meaning. Together with accordionist Bert van den Brink and fado guitarist Hans van Gelderen, she creates an enchanting interplay in which vocals and accompaniment support and enhance one another. Fado means 'fate'.
Is our life determined by fate? By what happens to us, by what is given to us in the womb, or by God? Or do we create our own path with our free will? Fado tells — through word and sound — about being human, longing, desire, grief, madness, vulnerability, joy, and gratitude.
