Trio of Liberty

A concert by Trio of Liberty guarantees beauty, freedom, and pure energy, driven by interplay, improvisation, and swing!

Bassist Joris Teepe and American saxophonist Don Braden have been performing together for 31 years. With this concert on Saturday, June 6, during Red Light Jazz, they celebrate the release of Chemistry, their fifth album as co-leaders.

The strength of the Teepe & Braden duo lies in continuously embracing a new musical challenge: for each edition of Trio of Liberty, they invite a different drummer. This approach creates a fresh dynamic every time, leading to surprising interactions and a unique musical chemistry.

Over the years, Teepe and Braden have performed with acclaimed drummers such as Jeff ‘Tain’ Watts, Louis Hayes, Matt Wilson, Winard Harper, Owen Hart Jr., Eric Ineke, and Gene Jackson.

For the performance at Casablanca during Red Light Jazz, none other than Steve Altenberg will be behind the drums.
